Over the course of many years, I have passed by their location on Clark Avenue, while on my way to the Heights area.
Recently, I visited Mr. Carlos A. Fernandez, Sr. and his brother Mr. Henry B. Fernandez III. They are the third generation at the reigns of the company that was started in 1955 by their grandfather, Mr. Henry B. Fernandez, Sr., and developed by their Father, Mr. Henry B. Fernandez, Jr.
The company has a team of highly skilled and dedicated technicians, many with decades of experience.
From the moment I walked into their office, it was obvious that every team member, from receptionists to accounting personnel and technical staff are invested in providing the highest standards in extermination services to Laredo and sorrounding communities.
Being a lifetime Laredoan, I have noticed that the challenges presented by the environment vary according to area. While the Heights neighborhood experiences a prevalence in mice and rat infestations, the Shiloh area is prone to snake visits, ant colonies and ticks. On one ocassion, while having my car serviced, rattlesnakes started making their way into the shop, right before my eyes. The owner of the business and his employees took to the task of killing them. There were baby rattle snakes and their older brothers and sisters. The momma snakes were undoubtedly close by. It would've been terrible if one of those guys had gotten into my car or any other vehicle without anyone having noticed.
Downtown, on the other hand, suffers from overwhelming bird and pigeon populations, as well as bat colonies, in addition to rodents, due to the area's abundant vegetation and mature trees that, while beautiful and beneficial in many ways, pose their own set of problems.
Throughout Laredo, as in many parts of the country, there is widespread concern due to the threat of termites which is the leading cause of major damage to homes and commercial buildings; more so than fire and flood situations.
Lastly, If you own or operate a warehouse, in any part of town, it is in your best interest to protect your building, as well as the merchandise that has been entrusted to your care, from rodents, cockroaches, spiders and the like.
